Each year, the Fyrefly Institute for Gender and Sexual Diversity coordinates the Mayor’s Pride Brunch to raise funds to support their 2SLGBTQ+ programs: Camp fYrefly, the AB GSA Conference, Fyrefly in Schools, Where the Rivers Meet, the Family Resilience Project, and CHEW Project YEG. Proceeds from the brunch will ensure that the Fyrefly Institute can continue supporting 2SLGBTQ+ folks to create a future where they are happy, thriving, resilient, and free from discrimination!
The brunch will be MC’d by Canadian-British television and radio personality, Mike Chalut, and will include remarks by the Fyrefly Institute’s Executive Director, Dr. Glynnis Lieb, UAlberta’s President Bill Flanagan, an appearance by Mayor Amarjeet Sohi, and an extravagant drag performance by CHEW Project YEG’s youth: Etherea, Gurlquisha, and Desire Devine.
