Tying the Knot – 5 Essential Wedding Tips

Since 1983, we’ve helped hundreds of happy couples celebrate the biggest day of their lives.

Every couple deserves to have the day of their dreams. Just as important, every couple deserves a great planning experience. Whether the experience means multiple menu tastings for the perfect custom dish or guiding you through every step of the process, we are here for you. Our talented wedding manager, Oksana Fedko understands planning a wedding can be a magical, yet stressful time. Below, she’s shared five essential tips to help couples get exactly what they want (in addition to the perfect partner, of course).

  1. Make it your own!

Customize your wedding details to represent you and your partner as a couple. The possibilities are endless when it comes to personalizing your wedding and our team is experienced at going above-and-beyond to create your vision. Oksana recommends working with our team of international chefs to incorporate a customized menu selection or food item, or include a favourite hobby within your centerpieces. Most importantly, she encourages couples to stay true to who they are without worrying about trends or pressure.

  1. Lighten your list!

Make sure all your wedding planning bases are covered and save yourself the extra work—book a day-of coordinator so you can enjoy your day with your family! Hiring a coordinator will give you piece of mind. Your coordinator will ensure the day remains stress-free, your schedule stays on track everyone and everyone is paid at the end of the day. It’s worth the investment.

  1. Plan ahead!

Is there anything worse than forgetting your rings or marriage certificate on the big day? Create a 48-hour wedding plan before the event. Your master list should include contact information, a detailed to-do list for family roles, a schedule and timelines for vendors and contractors. A wedding plan keeps everyone organized and makes the most of your valuable time.

  1. All to yourselves!

Oksana advises couples to make time for each other on this special occasion, away from everyone else. Schedule half an hour of solo time with your partner to enjoy the day and each other’s company. It’s an important bonding opportunity and a moment you’ll cherish forever in your love story.

  1. Break the rules!

When it comes to your wedding, it’s your day and your rules. Don’t be afraid to re-invent the wedding and break traditions. Whether it’s a low-key, themed, night-time or a surprise wedding, your wedding should be a reflection of who you are as a couple. Re-inventing your wedding day could be as simple as switching the order of the schedule, adjusting timelines, incorporating unconventional floor plans or trying something you’ve never seen done before!

No matter what your heart desires, we’ll help you celebrate a day you’ll always remember!
