Maintenance Engineer 2

Position Profile

The Edmonton Convention Centre is seeking a Maintenance Engineer 2 to join its team! The Maintenance Engineer 2 will be responsible for the safe operation of all mechanical and electrical systems throughout the Edmonton Convention Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and repairing of HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, bar equipment, movable walls, and bleachers
  • Moving/handling equipment and lighting systems on a preventative and demand maintenance schedule.
  • Making decisions regarding changes to HVAC control settings
  • Making field decisions when required in priority situations.
  • Operating and controlling of climate control systems
  • Operation of building automation systems.
  • Understanding, following, and complying with Explore Edmonton’s Health and Safety policy, ECC’s Health & Safety Program and OH&S regulations.
  • Supporting and promoting a Safe and Healthy work environment for clients, guests, contractors, and employees
  • Operating equipment in a safe & proper Manner.
  • Adhering to waste sorting guidelines
  • Supporting and promoting ECC’s sustainability commitment as part of the ECC brand

Job Details

The successful candidate will have:

  • Fourth Class Engineers Certificate or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Ability to work safely with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS, carry, and work on ladders in hard-to-access areas such as ceiling spaces.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and building automation control systems.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Confined space certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • WHIMIS certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Fall protection certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience working with power tools and equipment
