Position Profile

The Edmonton Convention Centre is seeking Visitor Experience staff to join the team for day, evening and weekend shifts! This position plays a key role in providing outstanding service to our guests. They are responsible for delivering top-notch visitor services, offering information on local amenities, supporting client needs and working collaboratively with our teams. This casual position is great for those with flexible schedules, as hours are based on operational needs.

Explore Edmonton’s two venues host hundreds of meetings, conventions, concerts, sporting events and other events annually. If you love to be a part of the action, want to see live music, meet and greet hundreds of Edmontonians in a day or night, this is the place to be!

Job Details

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming guests, clients and staff with courtesy, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Providing a memorable first impression of the Edmonton Convention Centre
  • Knowledgeable of the venue with the ability to provide directions when required
  • Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Addressing inquiries, resolving issues and redirecting members of the public as needed
  • Providing detailed information to visitors about local amenities, attractions, dining options and transportation services
  • Assisting clients with their event-specific needs and requests, such as accessing control, ticket scanning and registration check-in
  • Acting as a knowledgeable resource to enhance client experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1-year experience in a customer service or event-based position
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for customer service
  • Excellent problem-solving and positive decision-making skills
  • A commitment to quality, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Diplomacy and tact when handling sensitive situations and information
  • An ability to work well both independently and within a collaborative team environment with the flexibility to change with new ideas that are introduced
  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and local attractions is considered an asset
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts
