Growing Together: Métis Approaches to Early Learning and Child Care

Event Details

Get ready for something special! The Otipemisiwak Métis Government’s Children and Family Services Department is thrilled to bring you the first annual Growing Together: Métis Approaches to Early Learning and Child Care — an exclusive, free registration, hands-on conference for Early Childhood Educators across Alberta, designed to transform how children experience culture in classrooms and learning spaces.

Join us at the Edmonton Convention Centre from July 3–5, 2026 to explore Métis-informed programming, gain historical and current insights about Métis people, and take part in practical cultural activities you can bring back to your classrooms and spaces. Attendees will also learn about the newly developed Métis Early Learning Framework and how it is being used in early learning environments today.

This conference will help educators build belonging, pride, and Métis cultural understanding for both Métis and non-Métis children while creating more inclusive spaces where every child can connect with Métis history and culture. Participants will also receive ready-to-use resources, templates, and kid-focused activities that make learning engaging and meaningful.

Open to all Early Childhood Educators, Métis and non-Métis.

Register today and help bring Métis culture to life for the children and families in your care.
